The game in practice

Heroes of History asks you to develop a civilisation era by era while recruiting named heroes from across history. Your city supplies the economy; your heroes handle turn-based skirmishes. The two halves feed each other, so a stalled city eventually stalls your battles too, which keeps both systems in view.

What you actually do

  • Era progression that unlocks buildings and units
  • Hero recruitment, levelling and squad composition
  • Turn-based battles against campaign and player squads
  • Guild cooperation and shared objectives

Editorial strengths

  • Two distinct systems that stay interesting together
  • Approachable battles that never demand fast reactions
  • Historical flavour handled with a light touch

Primary limitation

Hero acquisition depends on chance-based rewards, which can be slow without spending.

Optional purchases

Free to start. Optional purchases include premium currency, hero packs and time savers.
